The beauty of the table lamp is reinforced

The beauty of the table lamp is reinforced with the kind of table that it stands on. The two should complement in terms of size, height and style. It is very important to consider one when buying the other. They go as a pair. The colors should match. The motif should be the same. If one is made of dark wood, it is best to have the other one with a dark shade too. With these things carefully considered, you will see that the highlight in your room will not solar led street light China only be on the lamp but on the lamp and table as a whole. This can give an elegant and sophisticated look that your guests will notice and appreciate.

Also, when choosing a table lamp, you have to consider the area that the table and the lamp will be placed. It will be awkward to have a big lamp and a small table placed in a small room. This can be confusing to the eyes and the effect is not consistent. It would be best to have an appropriately-sized lamp on a table at the right room size. The general guideline for the size of the lamp in reference to the table is one-third to two-third of lamp to table ratio. Considering the room size, a big lamp is great for a big room and vice versa. With a perfect match, the overall impact that the corner will create will be great.

The height of the lamp also matters. Generally, this depends on the size of the table. If the table is high, it would be good not to place it near a sofa because the likelihood is high for the lamp glare will be high. The general rule is that when a lamp is placed beside a lounge, sofa or a chair, it should be at ear level. The lamp will not cause a distraction on the one sitting when it is one. It will be uncomfortable to feel like there is a spotlight focused on one's face when that spot beside the lamp is taken.

The height of the lamp also is a factor of the ceiling size. For high ceilings, it is good to have tall lamps and you can give an accent in a corner of the room. For low ceilings, the standard table lamp size between 8 to 9 inches is suitable. For bigger rooms, you can get a 31-inch high lamp and you can get the attention that your lamp deserves to get in a nice strategic spot in your room.

Buying a lamp sounds easy but when you want the perfect lamp for your home, you have to consider the parameters mentioned and you will be happy with the results that you will get. Aside from getting the right size and height, you will also get the best accent and style that matches your room theme. This will make your room a better place for you to stay and relax. This kind of touch makes home the best place to be.

Here we look at an antique lamp with an ancient message

We have all heard about the "message in a bottle". Here we look at an antique lamp with an ancient message!

The story of Siddhartha's transformation into the Lord Buddha, meaning "one who has awakened", is well known to both the East as well as the West, with a growing Western interest in his life and teachings.

Every one has heard the name of the Buddha, born, by common tradition, about 565 B.C. Very few of the details of the Buddha's life can be verified, and it is difficult to determine the difference between history and myth.

Historically we believe that he was born in Lumbini which is in modern day Nepal, close to the border of northern India. He is believed to have been born into a ruling princely family and was given the name "Siddhartha" meaning, "One who has achieved his aim."

At the time of the Buddha's birth, astrologers predicted that he would become a great king, or a monk who would evolve into a great teacher. His father, with this in mind, had the boy raised in luxury with every need met, in the hope that he would not become involved in a religious life. At the age of 16, his father arranged for him to marry a princess of his class, she was named led high bay light manufacturers . He # continued his palace life until, aged 29; his wife gave birth to a son "Rãhula". Shortly after his son's birth, he began to travel away from his palace home.

Buddhist Tradition tells that he was deeply disturbed by the sight of an elderly, helpless, frail man. On his second journey, he saw an emaciated and depressed man suffering from an advanced disease.

On the third, he saw a grieving family carrying the corpse of a family member to cremation. He was deeply affected by this and reflected on the suffering he saw, old age, illness and death.

On his fourth journey he saw a wandering monk who led a reclusive life of meditation. He could see that he was calm and serene. This fourth experience motivated him to follow the path of the monk and find a spiritual solution to the problems brought about by human suffering.

Siddhartha left his wife, child and luxurious lifestyle, in order to seek truth. This was not uncommon and was accepted practice for some men to leave their family and lead the life of a wandering monk.

After his enlightenment, the Buddha continued to teach, moving from place to place preaching and teaching his message. After forty-five years of teaching, aged 80, he died in the small town of Kuśinagara. His final words were: "Decay is inherent in all things. Be sure to strive with clarity of mind".

The message of the Buddha began to spread and historical records tell that in 68 AD two Indian Buddhist monks were received at the Tang court and presented the teachings of the Buddha to the Emperor. The monks were well received and were given Imperial favor. They stayed in , translating Buddhist texts and teaching.

The Tang dynasty saw the flowering of Buddhism and by about 500AD the message had spread throughout and in fact, at this time, there were more Buddhist's in than in India, where most of the Buddhist's had reverted to Hinduism!

Buddhism has always had a rich language of symbolism, as has 's ancient culture. When these two cultures merged, new heights of symbolism were reached.

Much of the Buddhist teaching is metaphysical which requires a broad spectrum of symbolism, until the message, beyond the symbol, is read and understood. One of the Buddha's great teachings is called "The Eight Auspicious Symbols". Here we look at a altar vase, rich in the language of symbol, now reincarnated as a lamp! (A photo of this lamp can be seen on the company's website, link below).

"The vase", is one of the eight auspicious symbols and means many different things when it comes to Buddhism. It is, perhaps, one of Buddhism's most important symbols. It represents wealth, but not in the same way as wealth is understood in the West. Here wealth means "the ever increasing amount that we have as a result of our understanding through the study and effective practicing of the Dharma". This would be understood by such statements as, "the vase of inexhaustible treasures", or "a vase for emptiness, allowing it to receive the Doctrine of Truth". Specifically, it means the spiritual abundance of the Buddha, a treasure that does not diminish, however much of it is given away.

(An additional vase symbol is that fresh cut flowers are always placed on Buddhist altars in temples and in house altars in memory of the tradition that the Buddha loved flowers).

Our second symbol is the vase handles, with modelled and applied Ju'i shaped sceptre handles. The Ju'i is the name for the sceptre shaped, short, curved staff held by the Mandarin class, signifying authority. The applied sceptre handles on the lamp translate as "transcendent" or true authority.

Our third symbol is probably the most well known of all Buddhist symbols, the lotus. The bottom half of the lamp is composed of stylised lotus petals symbolically opening to reveal the pure vessel held within.

The lotus flower represents purity. It is able to grow and flower from the muddy water, and therefore is a symbol of spiritual growth and regeneration. The roots of the lotus are in the mud, the stem grows up through the water, and the beautifully scented flower lies pristinely above the water, basking in the sunlight. This pattern of growth signifies the rise from the primeval mud of materialism, through the waters of experience, and into the bright sunshine of enlightenment. The lotus is one of Buddhism's most recognized symbols and appears in all kinds of Buddhist art, painting, sculpture and ceramics.

Serbs protest in the ethnically divided Kosovo town of Mitrovica

BELGRADE, Serbia -- Serbia's parliament overwhelmingly adopted a resolution Wednesday that threatens to halt the country's integration into the European Union and cut off diplomatic ties with Western countries if they recognize Kosovo's independence.

Serbs protest in the ethnically divided Kosovo town of Mitrovica, 18 December 2007, during a rally against EU leaders' plans to deploy around 1,800 police and prosecutors to Kosovo. Serbian lawmakers are expected to endorse on Wednesday a resolution underlining their opposition to Kosovo's independence and warning of repercussions for the Balkan country's European integration. [Agencies]

The resolution -- passed with 220 votes in favor, 14 against and three abstentions -- also obliges Serbian officials to reject Kosovo's statehood and denounces NATO for allegedly supporting the separatist Kosovo Albanians.

Ethnic Albanians, who account for about 90 percent of Kosovo's 2 million people, have said they would proclaim independence early next year.

The US and several EU states have said they would recognize Kosovo's independence because it has not been under Serbia's control since 1999, when NATO intervened to stop former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic's military crackdown against the separatists.

Serbia insists Kosovo -- considered the cradle of Serbia's medieval state and religion -- should remain part of its territory, and has urged more negotiations with Kosovo Albanians.
During a fiery debate in Parliament, Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica accused the US of blocking efforts to find a compromise with ethnic Albanians by its open support of Kosovo's LED Garden Lighting factory independence.

"America is openly striving for the destruction of the international order," Kostunica told the parliament. "America, which once seemed like a symbol of freedom, now advocates the policies of force."

Serbia's pro-Western President, Boris Tadic, was more moderate in his speech, saying Serbia must strive to keep Kosovo, but that it should not give up "its European future" along the way.

The resolution says Serbia must "reconsider" diplomatic ties with Western countries that recognize Kosovo's statehood. It says that, because of NATO's support for Kosovo's independence, Serbia must remain outside the Western military alliance.

The document also said the possible signing of a pre-membership trade and aid deal with the European Union in January "must be in the function of preserving the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity."

Kostunica clarified that Serbia would not join the EU if the bloc recognized Kosovo's independence.

"Serbia can join any integration only as a whole and not a truncated country," Kostunica said.

Sports stadium fans go to the events for the ambience and experience

Sports stadium fans go to the events for the ambience and experience. Indeed, one with a large screen television would have a better view of what happened, along with slow-motion replays and zoom lenses. But we all agree it is not the same. Yet as sports figures salaries increase that means the cost of the tickets go up as well. These are issues for sports fans and this is without mentioning getting the SUV to the event considering the $3.00 plus per gallon. In fact one recent executive working for a large plasma screen TV manufacturing corporation said that for the price of two-visits to a sports game with your son, you could have already paid for the High Definition screen and the speakers to the surround sound. Of course if you live in New Orleans, Louisiana you could have picked on up for free recently? Okay bad joke. What I am getting at is the Stadiums led garden light wholesale need to continue to develop more in the way of the experience, as fans are getting very tired of 'the Wave? partly due to the fact that many are over weight and partly because we been there and done that.

I propose bright colored lighting using electromagnetic induction technology to charge a capacitor instead of the lights working off a battery. Currently there are some nifty micro-flashlights being used which you can buy which use a similar technique and are available thanks to the Everlite Flashlight technology research lab. These smaller flashlights work by shaking them for about thirty seconds and shine for about 6 minutes and they shine quite bright since they use a very bright LED light. Here is a link to this home use flashlight:

Now then imagine a system that the more the crowd cheered the greater the lights and the more they cheered the different colors of light. This would propel more of an exciting and intense experience. By using many smaller systems with thousands and thousands of little lights, with mirrors the greater the expression of excitement and cheering the bigger the effect. It is human energy and human intent willing the light and experience. Think about this.

Seems that everyone who writes to me signs their letters

Seems that everyone who writes to me signs their letters "love and light." It has such a bright uplifting sound to it. Lightworkers are being taught to hold the energy of the light and to equate love with a warm white light that heals and protects. After what feels like an age of suppression and darkness, it all sounds like such a refreshing change, much like the first bits of sunlight after a long harsh winter. And so the pendulum swings. Still we do not find balance.

Years ago a man came to speak at our church. Forgive me for my lousy memory, but I cannot recall which indigenous tribe or belief system he taught. What I remember is that he had an amazingly calm and soothing presence and that he ran us through a chanting meditation that had the entire room spell bound with love and healing energy. What he taught is what stuck with me. He said that his people do not assume anything when sending each other healing energy. They do not predetermine that the person needs white light, or green light, or physical healing, or mental healing or anything else. They imagine darkness warm and secure like a mother's womb protecting and embracing the person who appears to need help. They send them energy that is void of all color or emotion so that the person and his spirit can do as they will with it. It's the ultimate in detachment. They simply send the darkness and allow it to become whatever it needs to become in order to heal the persons body or soul. I imagined it as pure unrefined energy rather than as highly tuned and polished energy that the Lightworkers have so beautifully crafted. The concept stuck with me. Among his people there is no battle between the light and the darkness. All energy is of the original source and all is holy and sacred.

I look to nature for reassurance that this is indeed the natural way of things. The sun and the seasons have their natural perfect cycles of light and darkness, of growth and of death. If the summer lasted forever, the grass and trees would all shrivel up and die. If the darkness lasted forever, the seeds would never sprout anew. We can love each for its gift and even have a favorite that touches us a bit more then the other, but the balance is perfect and runs along beautifully with or without our loving it. The cycles of life and death, light and darkness do not require our help nor our approval. Such is healing and religion. All that is, is.... with or without our comprehension or approval.

Light and darkness need each other as a yin yang reveals. Without the other to reflect itself off of, they cease to exist. Remember the cool shade under the trees on a hot summer day. Remember the cool dark room for healing a migraine headache. Remember the restorative sleep that is best done in the dark. The caveman inside of us may still be afraid of the dark, but it does not mean that the darkness and its energy is bad or evil. Much evil has been done in the light of day. Much evil has been done in the name of God and every other holy label we give to the light. And goodness can also come of the shadows.

The dark night of the soul is perhaps the most pivotal moment in every healer's life. Until you embrace that which is deeply hidden within yourself, you can not take your full and complete self into your sacred work. If you deny the darkness within, you deny yourself the chance for real healing, real balance, real peace, and real change. It is in our darkness that we lick the wounds we've been dealt and its in the darkness that we find fortitude and strength to carry on regardless of other people's opinions of us. It's in the darkness that the angels come and show us that we are not alone. The shaman's journey is into the darkness where man keeps his secrets and his power.

The battle between light and dark is a cruel lie that was taught to us just like the battle between men and women. One is not better than the other. One is not more important or more holy then the other. Masculine energy versus feminine energy is not a battle to be fought, but the comparison of two gifts held within each of us. The light and darkness are the same way. Do not turn your backs on each other over gender and do not turn your back on the gift of darkness just because some leaders long ago told you things that were not quite true. The darkness is no more evil then women are. The darkness is simply another piece of the game of life to be explored and experienced.

Do not think that I am advocating evil behaviors or that I'm saying you should worship Satan. I believe that karma will kick you in the head if you are mean or hateful towards others. I believe that the boomerang always comes back and you get whatever you dished out. I'm simply advocating the exploration and appreciation of the darkness. Remember that the stars sit in a black night sky. There is so much more darkness up there then there is light. Remember laying out under those stars on a warm summer night and contemplating humanity's place in the universe. Beautiful amazing inner reflection happens led street light wholesale in the dark. Find balance between the two and learn to be whole within both. Do not assume that you know enough to judge any one color or shade as superior or inferior to another. It is the same with the colors of energy as it is with the souls of men. Love them all for they are all pieces of yourself.
